We are a full-service, direct response agency, headquartered in Carlsbad, CA with offices in Boston, MA; Los Angeles CA; and London, UK.  This position will be based out of Carlsbad or Los Angeles.

 

DESCRIPTION:

 

As the primary liaison between Agency and Client, the Director of Radio Strategy leads several client engagements including: providing strategic leadership on all things audio advertising (live read, host endorsement, podcasting, terrestrial, satellite, etc); supporting ongoing business development efforts, managing client satisfaction and expectations, and developing marketing and communication plans.  

 

This position requires timely coordination with multiple parties in order to keep the respect and confidence of our clients.  Qualities required include a positive team-oriented attitude, attention to detail and strong follow-through, a high-energy level (self-starter), and the ability to communicate with internal teams and industry vendors. A demonstrated ability to build relationships and work well under pressure will ensure success.  

Responsibilities

  • Own multiple client relationships including maintaining effective working relationships with client counterparts while developing a thorough understanding of their goals and KPI’s 
  • Put both the client and agency interests at the heart of your decision-making
  • Translate client requirements into agency requirements through developing clear documentation and communication (account plans, program plans, internal and external briefing documents, and statements of work)
  • Adhere to strategies and client brand guidelines
  • Perform client discovery and research
  • Lead the development of program strategies, measurable objectives, and tactics for all client initiatives
  • Manage team members and identify appropriate resources
  • Ensure that all work delivered is reflective of the agency’s quality standards
  • Coordinate all departments to plan, execute, and deliver integrated programs
  • Manage and garner appropriate approvals for project milestones, budget allocations, financial billings, and revenue recognition

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a full-service, direct response agency environment
  • Proven ability to manage complex client engagements
  • Competent leader with strong management skills and the ability to motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated success in “owning” high-quality programs that provide measurable results
  • Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills – specifically speaking with clarity and confidence and writing concise presentations/proposals
  • Ability to adapt to workload and working conditions while maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Experience in executing endorsement radio campaigns and podcasting
  • Ability to creatively deliver client’s products/services to the consumer via audio channels

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor’s Degree with 7 - 10 years’ experience in direct response industry
